Similarly, we too have the power to move forward when we have matured inwardly. “What fascinates me about the serpent is that it doesn’t rely on highly developed senses. It is guided solely by vibrations. It is a creature that leads its life according to what it perceives. When I apply these traits to a person, it is about drawing strength from within. It’s about awakening the primal force we all have, but few of us use, as František Drtikol writes in my favourite book The All-Powerful Serpent Force,” explains Janja.

The serpent’s movement comes from the centre of its body and is deeply connected to its inner self. This inner centre is crucial for our movement in this world. The serpent, inseparably linked to the earth, tills and enriches the soil, and is often a symbol of fertility. In the world of healing, it holds deep significance, and for Western medicine, it is an iconic symbol—depicted on the staff of Aesculapius. Its venom, when in the right amount, can be a medicine. Some see strength in it, while others feel it as a threat. The serpent is an image of the black-and-white view of the world, a symbol of both death and rebirth. The name of the collection is inspired by the necklace worn by the hero Atreyu in the film The Neverending Story. The amulet, with its intertwined serpents, gave him strength and courage on his journey. The main gemstone of the collection is Tourmaline, because of its power to strengthen one’s connection to their inner centre.
