Albedo
Albedo, Janja Prokić’s new collection, is inspired by the horizon – a thin line where water meets the sky, where it is not entirely clear what belongs to one and what to the other. This moment between two worlds became the starting point for the collection. The name Albedo comes from the Latin *albus*, meaning white, and in alchemical tradition refers to the stage of whitening. It represents a state between what has disappeared and what is yet to come.
The swan embodies this idea: a creature moving between water and air, combining strength with lightness. The collection portrays an adult swan, its cygnet, and the constellation Cygnus, whose nebulae give birth to new stars, symbolically connecting the collection to the emergence of something new. The theme of relationships and connection is further explored through opening jewelry pieces, whose meaning remains partly concealed, revealing itself primarily to the wearer.
Akoya pearls play a prominent role, their spherical shape reminiscent of a full moon, alongside Mozambican rubies in a rich pigeon blood hue, moonstone from Sri Lanka, and morganite, known as the stone of relationships. The collection is complemented by Top Wesselton VS brilliant-cut diamonds.
Albedo is a collection about the boundary between two worlds, about transformation and relationships that endure. About a moment on the horizon when it is still unclear where one ends and the other begins.
To touch the horizon
with an outstretched finger
so that, once again, for a moment
it appears
and disappears.
in a tremor
it transforms
into the beautiful swan’s
feather
falling
Caressed by half-closed eyes
water and air gently intertwine
by the shore
tenderness
it seeks
Born silver-brown
nourished by milky pearls.
