The Mitmem collection, whose main motif is inspired by the delicate meadow flowers of the Lusatian meadows, Janjas loved region, invites the wearer to embrace the idea that in simplicity and fragility, there is beauty and true strength. The meadow flowers, seemingly ordinary at first glance, reveal themselves upon closer inspection as perfectly fragile yet powerful forms, inevitably fleeting. This moment of transience leads us to a profound realization: when we allow ourselves to be fragile, over time, we become stronger.

Under the influence of this thought, the main stone of the collection became the opal – a subtle gem born under immense pressure in the dark depths of the Earth. In a more abstract sense, Janja developed the idea that under heavy pressure from all sides, something fantastically beautiful can emerge. Something that responds to strength with fragility. Opal is a stone that requires a sensitive touch; otherwise it shatters under pressure. And so, the entire process of crafting the jewellery in this collection is guided by gentleness.

The name of the collection is inspired by a poem by Janja’s favourite poet, Jan Skácel, whose work gently and sensitively expresses deep emotions, touching the soul through seemingly simple words. Skácel’s poetry is for Janja a constant reminder that in simplicity and silence, true strength and wisdom are hidden.

Thousands of flowers
guard, at fragile sight,
the world at the doorstep.

The meadow trembles,
a bow
someone left behind in the grass.

Reflections of shards,
the outlines of familiar scents,
palms.

Mornings soft
as a child’s face.
Chirping shining.
Evenings quiet,
deep ravines of age.
